2nd place face from race earlier this year, for sure pain face. photo my dad. (by this time someone had already crossed the line)
story: was behind a teammate 2nd wheel leading into finishing hill, which started about 500m out and leveled out for last 100m. I took up 'sprint' from 400m, knowing that my power was what it was and my teammate pulled off i took it up. I knew that i'd make it to the top of the hill and have to sit down and drive things home. Guy who won was well placed in the pack and started his sprint as people pulled him up a little further... probably passed me with 50m to go.
then after race took a cool down lap and lined up for next race...2nd place again. ugh lol

Trying to pull the break back, New Britain, M45+. CK and I got it down to 20 seconds but ran out of gas. Nobody else was interested. Photo courtesy Rich Foley.

Yea, I think everyone is starting to peak or atleast those planning to hit the big RR in august. Your boy looked strong. It was a strong field in the 1,2,3s. First couple of laps they had 2 OTF that almost had half a lap on the field and I heard only 14 of the 30 or so finished.

from a hill climb this weekend. the initial (low-angle) portion has ended and the road is now turning up to 8, 9, 10%. i moved to the front. i think the rider in 3rd is about to kill me. glad i was not within arm's reach. we're lucky to be able to race.
