dreadlocks should be banned by USAC. Anyone who works out often enough to race their bike sweats enough, and dreadlocks take DAYS to dry, that people who race and have dreadlocks literally have always-sweaty rotting hair. I vomit a little just thinking about the cheese inside those things.

There are lots of pictures here of riders having a good time, or at least looking good - not much suffer. As this is an old one of my son, I hadn't posted it, but I feel the need for a true suffer pic.
I believe these are Danny Munson photos.

pics from the TT. All glory and thanks to Katie Truong.
literally no warmup and 50f/rain = suffering on uphill outbound leg
best pic of frontal position
best near-profile
suffering in 3rd tt of the day, merckx. which, I'm even more annoyed at today. the guys I lost to (by 10,7,3) had 50mm wheels and skinsuits. I felt guilty with the evade, but at least moved my everyday carbon clinchers OFF to ride box section aluminum. hrhghahrghbl. Winner was on his first race of the day, too! That's unethical.
and then just a cool picture I liked of me running one of the guys down in merckx.

Hay guys.
Also did the Red Kite TT, got 4th in the E4. Not nearly as fast as those guys up there ^, but was pretty happy with how I did. When I checked the results right after the race it said I was 2nd, only to find out later that they weren't all up yet, so I was a little embarrassed when I went to the bike shop for podium shots only to find out I was 11 seconds off.

Face of suffering:
Good front view of position

3/22/2015. I stopped in the sprint when guys fell in front of me. Meaning I made it through fine but then stopped and turned around to make sure they were okay. I didn't get a finish and a teammate actually asked me why I didn't race, that he didn't see me in any pictures. It means I was suffering like mad in the race and hiding. One of the comments on the picture is "that's a really small bike". Haha.
Picture by Wouter H from his FB album of the races that day.
Someone came up to me after the race. "Dude you worked so hard today." I was like, what? I sat at the back the whole time, moved up at 2 to go, and stopped in the sprint. I literally never saw the front. Before I could ask him what the heck he was talking about he continued on. "You were working on race stuff right up until the start of the race!"
Oh, right. Yes. After the Masters, before the 3-4s, I got changed, pumped up tires, phone Strava, SRM on, helmet, gloves, diagnosed a drivetrain problem for another racer also in the 3-4 race (too many spacers, his lockring was rubbing the frame) and got my tools to help him with his wheel, spoke with someone from NJ about Bethel vs New Britain, barked out some last minute instructions to the registration staff (one of them was "can you put a pair of my wheels in the pit?").
I forgot to turn on the camera, spent 3 laps trying to turn it on (no glove, I didn't realize I accidentally ejected the MicroSD card in the process), and finally gave up when I almost got dropped.
The official usually spends more time giving instructions if I'm running late to give me time to get ready. I'll roll up to the line and he'll blow the whistle. This is almost what happened SUnday, by about 30 seconds.

Volcano Cliffs Circuit race. Cat5 mens race. Brand new subdivision with smooth, brand new roads, and no houses. Lots and lots of turns. Great fun. 3000 feet higher than my home altitude made for a tough morning!

I was hoping for a dramatic photo of the 45+ finish with the actual winner out of the frame and me crossing the line with the whole field charging behind and the whole thing looking like a scene out of Braveheart. Unfortunately of the 300 photogs at the race, 299 of them missed the finish and all I got was this somewhat anticlimactic photo. Credit Bill Kurtz.
In another dramatic moment, here's TKP spoiling the finish of Milan-San Remo for me as we took a coffee break at the back of the 3/4 race to enjoy the free watts offered by our aero helmets. Credit Bicycle Racing Photos on FB. There are a number of photos of us chatting, in some the size/bicycle position difference is even more pronounced and made me think of Of Mice and Men.

Someone has a clip of the finish, it's pretty impressive. I'll have to find it.

I pedal, therefore I am. In view - me ...suffering?... on the bell lap. Believe this is the same photographer that gc snagged his picture from.
