I have never understood this fascination men have with their hair.
Many people see a bald man and start making bald jokes, for example (those with comb-overs are funny, I will admit).
Anyway .. maybe I should go look for funny haircuts just to feel at one with the crew. I'll report back.

wasn't interested. topic [of the thread] swayed me.
But please don't let my presence and condescending tone hijack the thread; I have a pretty elusive case of foot-in-mouth disease. something about being frank.

I shave my head and my girlfriend loves it
But, back on topic, I look forward to these 3 weeks every year, for the race AND for the comments here about the coverage...Trautwig, Bob Roll, Phil's misspeaks, ad nauseum. I do not find the coverage that terrible. In fact I enjoy it for many reasons. If the announcers get a bit over the top I try to remember that they are not announcing this to only dyed in the wool cyclists and fans. I have sat and watched this race many times with new or casual fans, even people who only think about a bicycle when they are with me in July and I am glad the announcers "dumb it down" a bit so I don't have to spend all of my time doing the explaining. I also happen to think Al is getting better in the everyman cycling fan role. I enjoy it and, while it is not perfect it sure beats the BBQ cook off or PBR Bull Riding.
Cheers,
Brian

Mayo is a very unfortunate looking man in that picture. But I'd probably take his looks for his cycling ability.

The only thing that ever really bothers me is when they're covering a mountain stage and somebody drops off with their eyes rolling and their tongue hanging out of their mouth and someone has to tell us that the rider has cracked. I don't need them to tell me he's cracked. Aliens from another planet could be monitoring our TV signals, pick up that image, and they'd no that the rider was in bad shape. Unless it's somebody challenging for the the yellow jersey in Paris I don't need to hear a lot of commentary because a picture really can speak a thousand words and the image of that poor guy who looks just like I look when I climb is pretty self explanatory.

Why has no one mentioned all the COMMERCIALS!? Cripes, does ANYONE like cagefighting THAT much?
Versus is, apparently, fighting, bullriding, and cycling. Do we REALLY want to be mixed in that company?

I did like the Miller Lite ad where they confiscated it from the snooty restaurant: "$11.50 for a burger?!?"

Man.... those aren't the worst. The worst is Enzyte. Cheesy grin man with awful music. "Natural Male Enhancement." Reminds me too much of my inbox.
Blech.

I found this years commercials too be less annoying than in past editions. Anyone remember those Marla Streb ads where she kept body slamming a tree? Now that was an annoying commercial!
My favorites were all the Miller commercials.
"...11 dollars for a hamburger! You must be crazy"
