I went pro today.

Not the kind that makes a lot of money, but kind of like being a Cat 1 triathlete.

I am booking therapy sessions in advance for all of the DFLs I am going to get this season. I dont know if my frail ego can handle it.

Good luck. Be sure the back of your car is comfortable, you'll need somewhere to sleep.

I've known many guys that were pro triathletes.
Some were actual money making pros and national champions.
Others were getting beat weekly by lots of age-groupers.

What gives. How did the latter get pro licenses?

btw - all the best in '08, you a short or long distance type?

They might've transferred licenses from other countries (that's what one guy here did). I probably won't be much faster.

I'm short-course. I'll be doing draft-legal ITU races (and losing miserably....mostly on the run)

Short-course?
Is that like sprint triathlons. My bro in-law does those.
Best to you. And never count yourself out - ever.

I do plenty of sprints, but ITU is olympic distance...about double the length of a sprint (1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run). I have no intention of doing an ironman in the next decade, though.

He's training to do one next year I hope he does. He talks about it all the time.
Two friends of mine did one last year (Wisconsin I think). The woman I know said it was the most brutal thing to do to yourself. You should try it, Pro.

Yup, you just committed to one before 2017.

Hey are you coming out to play at Progress Park next weekend?

I'm still in base right now. I might make it out for one of the Progress Park races in February and lose the sprint in the B's race again!

Then go for a break away. There's a few guys who will be racing the B's that would be able to work a solid break with you.

Besides, the prime list is going to be awesome this year.

Better than the "mystery prime" that was actually a gym bag that had its heat transfers peeling off filled with an old 10k t-shirt and a yo-yo?!?! No way! I'm there! LOL.

If Little Mike is still racing B's he's always up for going off the front. Besides, he'll probably crash in the last lap and let me win.
