I just rewatched 07 and I forgot just how close Hoste was to getting there. Heart breaking! I also forgot how close Vaitkus got at the end with a team mate. Too bad he blew up by the time help got there. Looks like he may be on better form going into the race this year. Too bad he has to wear that awful kit. Thats got to hurt his chances.

Yesterday I was riding my myself out in the pouring rain. Because of the crappy weather I started thinking about the spring classics and the thought hit me that botto is is the wrong side of the ocean. I hope that whatever botto is doing is paying a lot of $'s.

I just happened to be in France for Lemond's last TdF and got to see some in person. That was fun, but I'd trade that for a couple of weeks over there at this time of year. I like this kind of racing better.

As I said numerous times already I had been planning on being there in person this year but other things came up so its kind of bumming me out.

Now I am just trying to figure out what its like seeing one of these races in person. Obviously there is more too it than the few seconds the riders pass you.

Obviously.

Maybe next year. And don't forget to bring an international license and jump in a few amateur kermesses.

there is always next year... true. However, if I go there with a race bike it would more likely be in the winter for cross. i can dream though

hats off. i've been a big time wussy and have avoided riding in the rain (considering the gutters are rivers down here, and the drivers go from bad to horrific in the rain, i'm ok wiith it).

as far as lots of $'s: why do you think i find myself drinking pbr? ;)

i was a hipster (sans skinny jeans) before they coined the term.

these days i just find myself in bars like the lamplighter, where it's basically the only beer they serve.

i have yet to try one of Mrs. Shirely's burgers.

50 km to go, Freire off the front, Gomez demolished, rain, sleet, cobbles...
Dark horse Chavanel is still there...
Wonder if Freire is playing rabbit for Flecha.

God, botto, how can you be missing this?
