It definitely caught a lot of people off guard. I understand it was a safety issue, but man, the timing sucked!

We dropped a lot of people in the 3rd lap chasing down a break, and I guess the dropped riders didn't get the memo about the early finish, because quite a few of them took a 4th lap anyway.

I was lead moto on your race and sat behind the break once it got more than 30 seconds. How the break got caught was anyones guess, since there were quite a few riders in it. Except Cycle-Life and Artemis. Were they the ones who brought it back? The constant attacking was amazing to watch. Us cat4 cguys could learn a thing or two about racing from you ladies.

Hmm...are you talking about the 123? I was in W4. I think the "break" was just a solo flyer (by the woman who wound up winning the race--she had quite a kick!). She was off the front for a bit, but as far as I could tell, she stayed solo and didn't get *that* far ahead. Artemis was definitely not leading the chase in my race but rather a few workhorses up front from HPC and a couple others. No constant attacking in my race. It was a snooze as far as that goes. I still wound up wasting energy nearly running over a couple people who wound up taking the whole lane to make a turn at 10mph (and then having to chase those in front of us), and trying to get around a couple of ladies who kept moving toward the front only to start some sort of slow speed slalom that freaked the rest of us out.

I'm nearing a 3 upgrade I think, but I'm not sure I'll have enough time to train for 3 races in the future. I don't know if I should go for the upgrade. Sounds like the other race would've been a lot more fun (provided I would've been able to hang on).
