Powertap wheel build

I work at a shop and am going to be able to pick up a Powertap SL 2.4 in the near future. I'm leaning towards getting it built into a DT Swiss RR 1.1 rim with a 28H pattern.

My question is in regards to different spokes. What should I be looking for in spokes? Are there specific spokes that I should take into consideration or stay away from? I would appreciate any suggestions.

If it matters, I weigh 140.

I have an SL on straight 14g and a pro on sapim cxray's. I've had no problems with either.

First of all, go with the 1.2 rim, not the 1.1. Then get Sapim C-Xrays or similar DT's (aerolites), but remember that they may be hard to find. If you don't care for bladed spokes or want to save money, just get DT's, but definitely get them double butted (DT competition). At your weight, why not go with 24 spoke? If it is built well you will have no problem with 4 less spokes and it gives you the option of rebuilding it later with a Zipp rim or something similar later if you want to upgrade.

Edit: By the way, I have a 2.4 on a 24 spoke 1.2 rim with DT competitions that I built myself and I have been very happy with the build so far. I have about 2100 miles on it so far, I weight 155 lbs.

Kinlin 30mm rims are a much better option that the DT 1.2 Rims. They're a little cheaper than the DT's and about 120 grams lighter per rim.

I'm currently run a PT Pro on a 24 spoke Kinlin with CX Ray spokes and couldn't be happier. For the record I weigh about 145lb.

They are light but from what I understand they are not the sturdiest things even for very light riders (I think they recommend at least 28 spokes for riders >120 lbs (!!!). I think they are harder to build on also. Are they made by Velocity?

+1 for the Nio (kinlim) rims. I had a set built up with Nio 27mm rims, a PT SL 2.4 rear hub, and a White Industries H2 front hub. The whole set is <1.6 kg and has been flawless so far.

On side note, I am looking for a wheelbuilder to help me out with my next build. I have rims and rear hub already and some wheelbuilders won't work with customer supplied items.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll probably go with DT Swiss competitions or revolutions. I'll be interested to see what the weight will be like with the revolutions.
