Just received my wireless Ptap Pro+ built into an Open Pro. I showed up at the LBS after the Sat morning ride and they're like, "you're wheels are here, we emailed you." I had received no email. And don't they know that a singing telegram would've been more appropriate for such an occasion? I was thinking they'd take a few more weeks anyway so I was surprised. Oh well, I bought & installed new tires & tubes, cleaned & swapped my cassette. I'm sure I'll have plenty of numbers and questions shortly. And yes, I've read Training & Racing... about 3 times.

WKO+ gridlines - move/remove
anybody know how to move, remove, eliminate gridlines that one has added to graphs? i've read the manual, 411, searched googlegroups wattage, and searched bikeforums - no luck. the only thing that works is to quit wko+ without saving. i have not tried saving with an added gridline to see if it remains - don't want to do that until i learn how to remove gridlines
such a simple thing; frustrating that i can't figure this out on my own
thanks
mike
never mind....
as soon as i posted this i figured it out: double click on the scale (one of: watts, bpm, rpm, mph, kph) and a dialog appears where you can hide, edit, remove the gridlines
i guess it helps to to wave your hands and yell "i'm an idiot" to attract the clue bat; thanks bf, for wielding the bat once again

rode hard thursday, sat., and today for 716 TSS total. yesterday was the hardest, 297 TSS (.908 IF for 3hr38min). i feel tired, but ok, like i could ride again tomorrow without it being a total waste.
my question is, should this be possible? or do i really need to re-test my FTP?
i don't want/need to push it, so i'll take tomorrow and maybe even tuesday off, i'm just curious.

coggan seems to indicate that if you're into 300 tss territory that it should bake you for at least the next day, maybe two. More experienced comments welcome, of course

I think it depends on your ctl and the mix of time/intensity. All TSS is not created equal.

well, my CTL is relatively low - after these last 4 days, it's at 52. the rides were very variable (VIs of 1.29, 1.38, and 1.4). total time was 8.5 hrs, and included 1:16:29 in anaerobic zone. distribution is attached -

I dunno, I did about 360 TSS last saturday and followed it up with about 215 on Sunday. I was pretty worthless by the end of the second ride but after a rest day I put in my highest ever 20m power

.908 for 3 1/2 hrs is not typically realistic. You should be losing ~5% per hour from what I've read.
300 TSS is almost always a "baked" day. I would say especially on a CTL of less than 100, make up of the ride not withstanding.
That being said, two races on Saturday, the bike rides to/from plus warm up/cool downs were 260 TSS for me and I raced twice the next day twice for another 250 TSS.
I almost always know when a ride of that magnitude is going to happen and it's on the last day of the training week - rarely with a ride the following day. The risk of over-training is just too great.

I have a race @ 3 hrs with an IF of .91 and another with an IF of .94. However, looking at both of those, a week later I bumped my ftp up ~ 20 watts.

Does anyone else feel like WKO+ turns training into a video game?
You score points - TSS
Experience goes up - CTL
You "level up" - new PR for different power intervals and the e wang chart
Its kind of awesome

I get addicted to RPGs very easily, and a power meter turns training into an RPG.
Therefore, I will get addicted to training (more so than now), and I will eventually beat the game.

Yeah I used to be addicted to one of those games too (not D&D), the only problem is you learn there's a limit to how many "points" or TSS you can accumulate. Not so with RPGs.

is there any way to import a BUNCH of .wko files into wko? I have a directory full that I want to add to my profile, but it seems that I have to choose the athlete on each one. This is going to take forever

you can, but you'd still have to select the athlete for each file.
i think the only way to do it fast would be to automate the clicking process... search for "record/playback" software, it will record mouse clicks/keystrokes and then play them back, maybe in a loop like this.
if you knew some C# one could probably whip up an app for this...
but i really wish WKO had some kind of API so i could write cool apps like this, without using record/playback.

^^ thanks for the suggestions
Does anyone know if I can lace a 32 hole ptap to a 24 hole rim? I think I remember this being one of the possibilities. How would that look? Radial NDS and 2x DS?

2x drive side and radial NDS would work, especially since the spoke length calc. for the radial spokes is independent of the fact that you're skipping holes.
Not sure how you would calculate the spoke length for the 2x side though.

DRAG them to the WKO window and an import dialog will pop up with all of the files and you only have to select the athlete once
