OUCH sponsorship
Cyclingnews.com has a review of Floyd's OUCH team bike, "Unlike most top European teams, OUCH's title sponsorship from Maxxis limits it to clincher tires." Pretty odd, you would think they would just have some tires re-badged, if it is that simple.
Wonder if Floyd was running tubulars if he would of flatted on stage 2 and lost contact with the main contenders?

Cycling News always reports on things like rebadged tires in their tech stories... If I were a tire sponsor I'd consider my labels on someone else's tires to be bad advertising.

a race clincher and a race tubular will be equally flat prone, yes. They do make thinner tubulars that are obviously more flat prone, but those are a different story.

Some members of OUCH were running tubulars in the prologue. If Mavic is too stingy to make a road-specific iO front wheel, they're definetely too stingy to make a road-specific iO in clincher configuration with a carbon braking surface.

I've wondered - do they just try to remember never to use the front brake when running a front iO? Or do they figure Mavic will give them a new one if they mess it up by braking more than occasionally?

it's kind of weird to hear about so many of these big name pros getting flat tires... i feel like flat tires are really rare in my experience... i suppose they DO ride a bit more than i do..

I'd imagine that it's possible to brake on them, it's just that there isn't really a surface to brake on. I doubt they have anything better than sub-par braking.
