True. I appreciate you pointing out my mistake. Thank you.

Controlling ruling, yes. But at what level are they going to truly enforce it?

That's irrelevant to the OP's question. <-- just for you.

Why thank you!

No, tuck your jersey into your shorts and duct tape the pockets closed.

Are there any other officials that read these threads and cringe besides me?

I would ABSOLUTELY "penalize" you for wearing another teams kit, it would be further aggravated by your seemingly poor attitude.

Now the Caveat.

If a rider shows up wearing a kit that is not of a team that is represented (as the OP suggested) ie. a disco jersey or like an ONCE kit or something... there would be no issue. If you show up to a race cat 1/2/3 or not and had a jersey on for an opposing team that was represented within that peloton and I became aware of it, I would certainly take exception and make sure that AT LEAST riders in the peloton knew who you were and what team you rode for. You appear to be doing it for financial purposes, and not to cheat so it wouldn't be a huge issue, but it very easily could be.

Nextly, I'm not trying to be harsh, but when another poster takes the time to answer your question by going to THE GOVERNING BODY OF YOUR SPORTS WEBSITE and searches through a LENGTHY .pdf document that is READILY available to EVERYONE, and you criticize them for answering your question with the location of the solution with a comment such as "since you're looking could you just post the answer". I have to question what your intentions really are.

I'm really not trying to be a prick, but that just seems unacceptable. Compounded by the fact that you took the time and put in the effort to get onto a team and for whatever reason (financial is certainly understandable) don't want to buy their skinsuit...

I'm sure you're a nice bloke, but just stop for a second and think about how you're coming across.

+1

I really wanted to buy a skinsuit this year for crits and TTs, but the clothing company we used sucks and doesn't make one in my size. Like others said, they can definitely be worth the price when you compare with the cost jersey + shorts.

The OP said the kit was from a team that is no longer around, so it would not be from another team in the peleton. Also, the OP said this is for a TT, so there is no peleton, and therefore no opportunity to cheat.

Edit: By the way - thanks for officiating bike races. I know it can be a tough and thankless job.

+1 people are answering questions that are not being asked. Almost Nobody besides cmh has recognized that and actually answered the OPs questions. is it legal for TT?

Answer: yes.

Thanks. I did end up buying my team's skinsuit. It was less expensive than I originally thought.

It's one thing to be wrong; it's quite another to be wrong in the face of the correct answer staring you in the face. Go to the rule book, read it, spend some time understanding it, then get back to us.

hey dick... who are you talking to specifically here? Sounds like you are combining people. I sure hope you are not an official in my district if you cant even keep track of typed non moving messages!

I only asked about wearing a blank skinsuit and since the one dude already looked it up I figured he might could answer. My team doesnt even offer skinsuits anymore so I have to go another route if I want to wear one.
