heh. Happens more often than not. Someone asked me why I'm not a 2 (I beat him in two sprints in a row, and he was one of a few guys that can follow my wheel if I jump through a gap). I pointed out to him I can only finish well on two courses in the area - Bethel and New Britain. I don't place in other races - I get shelled or I simply can't make it into the points. I started rattling off races where I got shelled or was blown before the finish and simply couldn't sprint.

I used to place in Prospect (in the 35+) but it's too far/early for me now.

I think my style of riding results from a combination of low ftp, about 15-20 extra pounds (a good friend told me I do well whenever I get below a certain weight, and I'm 20-25 lbs over that now), my decent sprint, and knowing how to suck wheel.

So yesterday that guy placed again, winning the field sprint, and I was nowhere. When a race is tough, I get killed. When it's slightly less than tough I have a chance. If there's a lot of coasting, I'm all over it.

See you at Hell of the North?

I'll be there. Look for the short fat guy in a Bikers Edge/Destination Homes jersey probably pulling up the cat V rear.
Btw, did they get any photos of you at the March 14th RMR crit?

Oh dear God, they did.

Well, isn't that embarassing?

I'll send a PM before Hell of the North and we'll at least figure out how to say hi at the race.

Is that you in the gray and white? Looks like you are at the front of the pack, that's not embarrasing.
Yeah, we'll definitely put the names to the faces at HoTN.

Yup, I'm in the gray & white, half a lap before nine of my pals swarmed past and left me with 10th. So it goes.

It was pretty windy on saturday, i was glad i didn't go out to RMR. Are they planning on doing any races in the oval this year? I hate that outside loop, way too sketchy.

The first race (3/7) was on the oval, and when there's water or something else going on on the outer loop, they'll move to the oval, which is probably where this Saturday's race will end up.

That short track is boring as can be but it's at least consistent, which can't be said of the outside loop.

You coming out this weekend?
