Sh- happens. Whatever the intent or non-intent, the outcome was not good. Actions have consequences. It will not be the end of Bos' career.

It was a racing incident. Period. End of story....but of course it isn't the end of the story is it. Why would Bos even bother with RR anymore....this whole thing is BS. Again I point out Grahme Brown's boneheaded move at the TDU. He wasn't sanctioned or brought up on charges. It's arguable that Brown's actions were more deliberate and dangerous.

So what anyway. Just because Brown got away with something in a race in a previous year doesn't mean Bos didn't ride dangerously and shouldn't be sanctioned.

Yeah it was Qatar. The point is the UCI need to be consistent with their penalties. If Browns action weren't bad enough to sanctioned, or for that matter most of what McEwan pulls then why single out Bos for what is most likely a racing indecent.

He ought to have some penalty for putting a hand on someone but it should be reasonable and just enough to make a point; a fine and a 1-2 week ban.

This is BS.
https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/bos-...impey-incident
UCI imposes minimum one month ban
The UCI has handed Rabobank's sprinter Theo Bos a one-month suspension for his run-in with Barloworld's Daryl Impey at the Presidential Tour of Turkey earlier this year.
The incident, in which Bos squeezed between the barricades and race winner Impey in the final sprint of the last stage and grabbed Impey's jersey before both of them crashed violently, was caught on video and reviewed by the UCI's disciplinary commission.
The commission decided that Bos violated UCI regulations, but imposed the minimum sanction. The Dutch rider could have been suspended for up to six months.
Impey, who was in the race's overall lead at the time of the crash, won the event since the crash happened within the final kilometre, but left Turkey with a broken jaw and teeth and several fractured vertebrae.
Bos’ suspension will begin on 15 August and end on 14 September, 2009.

I've got to say I respectfully disagree EDR. I've watched the replay a number of times and Bos clearly reaches out and grabs Impey's jersey and pulls him down.
Had Bos fallen over and taken out Impey in the process, or in the process of falling reached out to break his fall and his hand hit Impey, I would say that's racing, deal w it. But it looked like he was out to take Impey down for whatever reason.
Had he done this to me in a race I would want to see him suspended for a looong time. Just my opinion.
