Movie night on the rollers. Mixed in 30 minutes of cadence drills. 10 of those minutes were 125+ rpm with a few brief (dangerous) spinups thrown in. A near miss forced wisdom upon me so I moved the adjacent furniture out of the way for the rest of the show.

3:15 of z2 today. Starting to feel some fatigue set in. Rest day tomorrow and then one more week then I'm planning on keeping the hours low over thanksgiving break (probably a 2 hour ride that wednesday and maybe something longer the saturday after thanksgiving with the team).

You are literally falling apart dude.

FWIW, in 2005 I tore the ligament that holds up the arch in my left foot. I couldn't do anythign about it for another couple years, in 2007 I had surgery to fix it, still couldn't do much with it, i was in a leg cast for 4 months... fastforward another couple years, and it's back to normal cause I didn't push it when it needed time to recover. The only thing now is a huge ugly scar on my foot from the surgery and I have horrible balance from 4 years of no left foot control.

Seriously, if you want to get better, you have to ****ing stop pushing your body to the limit every day.... You know this.

I lift legs once a week and it was fine after. I'll hit the workout on sat and evaluate as needed based on how I feel. To be fair, my right knee is doing much much better since I stopped riding and started lifting more.

Workout's on saturday. I don't really lift with legs any other days and this is the first it's even 'twinged'. So I'm not too worried.

With lifting, I push one part of my body to the limit once a week and then let it recover for a week.

steady pedaling on the KK last night... I need to work on that more.
One way that I can tell when I'm out of shape is that I don't pedal at a good cadence non-stop, I'll pedal for a bit and then slow down or coast for a moment, then start up again... like a sputtering engine almost?

anyhow - rode Z2 w/ some 90" standing efforts while watching "The Battle for Algiers" for the 'nth' time... great, great film. The scene compositions are solid, the plot is tragic and incredible, and the rough/raw feel that the director took for it is perfect. Love, Love the film.

Anyhow - made the gf gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, rode the bike steadily while she wrote some papers - just hanging out in the living room and being around each other is grand.
Yeah - a good night.
Annual race team meeting is tonight, it's always fun. With any luck at all I'll avoid getting voted onto the board.

I will be keeping your reminder in mind though. There's no point in trying to push it super hard because that leads to more harm than good. Thanks for the reminder. I failed my lift of 225 for a front squat the other day, after I tried a second time. I felt fine for the next couple of days, but that big a jump in weight probably wasn't the best idea. I'll drop down and put in some more time before attempting that one again.

Thanks.

No ride today, letting the legs recover a bit. Gunning for 15+ hours this week.

Btw the PT came back to life last night, guess it dried out - sweet!

I will only charge you a nominal amount to continue your ra king work outs. I have several yards that can be used.

Today I did 4.5 hours of easy Z2 for 80 miles. I then showered and started looking for the car keys to go to the market for some dinner fixings. Oh, SNAP! The SO has both the van keys and her car keys so off to the market on my bike.

And we all hope you learned from it. If not we have an example for the next guy. Too bad it's unlikely anybody will be able to find the saga.

Rollers today with no fan attached for an hour. I was just playing with cadence. My form must suck, because even at F-all wattage when I up my cadence at all my HR goes up way more than it should. It's weird, because I don't really bounce at 115rpm, but my HR goes up. Great, I'm getting no more power to the rear tire, but I'm working harder to do it. Just what I always hoped for.

HR always goes up when your cadence goes up, no matter how hard you are working.

I still have the back yard to do. That one will be a 25-30 bag job.

one of the only indoor scenarios where I can get my HR almost up to "outdoor time trial" levels is when I am doing roller workouts at 135 rpm or faster.
