You'll get rain tomorrow, enjoy! I'm going to wait until later in the day and hope that it has subsided by then.

How many TSS points do I get for fighting a fever and having strep?
Has anyone here ever raced while on the tail end of a 10 day amoxicillin cycle?

i absolutely couldnt do a workout in the rain yesterday afternoon.
in my defense i did manage to do SST my commute both ways, so i got a little somethin, but no intervals as i'd planned. plus i did good disciplined workouts monday and tuesday, so taking a break from HIIT wasnt so bad. just gotta do it today.

Starting to sound like the entire BF race community needs a rest week.
Myself, I'm just coming off a mini-rest and heading into Peak. Unfortunately I am also transitioning into a modified Paleo diet at the same time and finding that my legs have definitely not adapted yet. Things are getting better, but right now any repeated, high-intensity efforts are just about impossible. First "A" race is in three weeks so I still have a little time to make the adjustment but I'm not 100% committed to sticking with this.

Went for 1:16 to test out the hamstring recovery; not an issue during the ride. But, the most important result is how I feel tomorrow morning.

More TT work today. Made a few more changes to the fit and it's feeling good (okay, not good, fast). The workout was 4 x 10' at 190-220w (FTP is 195).
Totally nailed the first two at 217w and 220w. I had to slow for a crash (stupid tourists) on the third which brought me down to 193, but I could have hit 210+w if it weren't for that. I was just plain tired on the fourth and just eked out 190w on that one, but still happy with the workout.

Took the car into service and rode my bike back. Mellow 27 miles. I'll of course double that this afternoon.
fair weather cyclist
thought this was interesting
did some 2x25.5's today because the sun finally peaked through after about 6 days of rain.
First interval, tried to go right by the watts and felt like i was dying, not getting into any zone. couldn't imagine I could repeat and reach the target.
2nd interval I thought I'd be 20 watts off... decided to not look at the power meter except maybe at the 1/3 and 2/3 marks. Ended up beating my first interval by 2 watts and much lower perceived exertion!

Dude...I am not...my son (2 year old) jumped on my back the day before last...none of my rides this week are hard. I have a decent amount of fitness and I am not going thru losing it again like I did in March.

Legs are feeling better after my travel week last week. Did a couple repeats today and went fairly hard on two of them. I had a rabbit to chase on the last one and gave him 20 seconds at the start -- good fun to have a predator/quarry thing going. I went ahead and ate the guy and his bike. Eliminates some of the ethics of hunting debate there.

1 week of travelling on business, then a week of being sick has killed my fitness. According to WKO, my CTL went from about 80 to 53. I'm back to early January CTL range. I guess I'll call this an extended rest/transition phase. That week at the beach with the family in 3 weeks isn't going to help matters. I have my first A race on Memorial Day up Burnt Mountain in north Georgia, its about 2500 feet of elevation over 7 miles (I believe).
Should I focus mainly on FTP between now and then and just try to get that up a bit vs throwing in 1 min and 5 minute intervals or should I just live with my current FTP and focus on shorter intervals to get top end power up? Thoughts?

Took the day off training-wise to take Spawn2 to the dentist after school, run some errands, and get some dinner prep done (peeling shrimp for scampi later tonight and dry rubbing a pork shoulder to smoke on Saturday. I had to make a fresh batch of rub.).
I plan to do some VO2max work tomorrow. I rarely target that because it is kind of my "sweet spot" in my profile.
I can't make kensuf's TT series on Saturday because I have to drive the better half of this pair to the airport.
Now enjoying an adult beverage and exhaling.

Gardening and garage cleaning intervals today.
fuggitivo solitario
haven't done any serious training in a month save for a trip to Philly that took 12 hours (lots of stops and lots of stop and go). I'm sure my FTP has dropped by 30 watts. Time to ramp things up again...
