2010 Ventura Stage Race is cancelled
Got the email from the race promoter this afternoon........
"The Ventura County Stage Race will not be run on April 17th and 18th, 2010. We have not been able to accommodate a scheduling conflict in Ventura or negotiate an acceptable alternate location within the area. We regret having to cancel, but we wanted to provide enough notice to alter your racing calendars accordingly.Thank you for all your support last year. "
This is a real bummer. In their first year they put on a great stage race. Hopefully they can work out a location and bring it back in 2011.

A good general rule in racing is not to make an unstable event (has not been running consistently for at least 5 years) as your A event. I believe the Ventura SR has only run 1 or 2 years, right?

I should have said "a" goal race. It's right in the middle of a bunch of other stuff I want to be fit for, but this is local so I put a little more emphasis on it. Last year was the first year. Now it leaves kind if a hole in the schedule.

Ahh, makes sense. Any Velo Promo events that weekend? Might be a good excuse for a trip.
