Help me Frankenstien across the line.
I got crashed out this weekend by a fellow collegiate racer and during the event had my right hand shifter broken beyond repair. I have already ordered a replacement but it seems, it will not arrive in time for my race this weekend. My question is, does anyone have any suggestions to jury-rigging a right hand shifter on the cheap to work through a weekend?
I'm thinking a bar end friction shifter, provided it has enough range to cover my cassette.
I'm running campy record 10 speed 11-23 x 53-39 double.
Or perhaps a shimano 9 speed shifter would work?
I'm open to anything.

Downtube shifter.
Simple. Cheap. Efficient.
Your lbs should have one in their parts bin. They might even give it to you if you ask nicely and bring them beer.

a lot of new frames won't accept a downtube shifter.
A bar end will work fine. The throw won't really affect you, 9 or 10s. Find a TT bike that can donate a shifter. Heck, you could even use a left shifter (so it's not indexed). That way you can use any shifter, not a particular brand/speed (Campy 10s vs SRAM 10s vs DA 8s vs Ultegra 8s etc).
As a bonus a bar end shifter gets anchored just like a regular lever/shifter - cable housing stops somewhere along the top of the down tube. So it'll be a straightforward install. If you have STI you can just leave the cable housing out and not rewrap everything (just e-tape the housing to the bar tape). For Ergo/SRAM/newShimano you'll have to unwrap.
good luck

If you have a really good relationship with your LBS, they might even give you a whole new shifter, in anticipation of the replacement arriving.

Ah right with the DT shifter thingy CDR. I think if the bike had bosses in the right place, then it might work. If it's a carbon wunderbike, then probably not.
