Did the guy that went down really bad come out ok?

This is what I dislike most about Twilight crits...

It looks like the guys in the middle are from one team. Bahati has some guys, including himself, on a different team, and in fact Bahati & Co seem to use the first team's leadout.

I'm missing one key thing and that's the team the helmet cam wearer races for - I don't know if he's a fluoro or a bahati.

I never heard much about injury fallout from the race, seemed like everyone made it out more or less ok. No ambulances at least.

Also the cause of the crash was from rolling a tire I think (first guy that went down), not due to the darkness.

This race made me love twilight crits, though it is the only one I've done..

I thoroughly enjoyed the night races I've done, all of them in Michigan. At that time they only had two light/generator trailers and one was at the finish so there was literally only one other light on the course. The rest of the course was basically pitch black - there weren't even street lights. There were some bleed through lighting from the opposite side of the course as well as the sporadic store sign or something that wasn't turned off, but it was a small town so no big stores or lit up parking lots. Not something I'd be keen on doing now but back in the day it was incredible.

Found this video on youtube of the Early Bird road race finish. I appear coming up the left side at 0:44 to win the "sprint" for 3rd.

Too many teams with fluorescent yellow jerseys these days. I think there are three different teams in the video with that color. I may be wrong since I decided to skip both opening weekends of racing (before I got the flu) and I haven't seen anything up-close and in-person, but I think the three guys who are dominating the front are not on Bahati's team. The only Bahati rider that I saw at the end was Rahsaan.

Justin Williams is wearing the video cam and he is racing for UCI CT: Astellas Cycling Team this year. I am always impressed with how easy he makes it look at the pointy end of a field like that.

It looks like the winner, Justin Williams, is not a part of the fluoro team train based on this: https://socalcycling.com/2014/01/13/p...ix-icebreaker/

Does anyone know of race videos online where you can see team tactics and strategies? This can be ranging from people posting videos on this thread (I think I've seen every video posted in this 34 page thread) to watching certain Tour de France stages on youtube.

I think you answered your own question.

Edit: but cdr's blog/videos probably have lots more narration and explanation of what's going on, I hear they're good.

Good job.

Two of our club members, Zach and Ryan (Mike's Bikes Dev team), went 1 and 2 in the 4's. They won't be fours for long, I suspect.

Did you mean this one? (The video I saw in your post is of Orlando Garibay, the winner of this race, riding with Cameron Wurf. Cool video, but not the race...)

Speaking of Justin Williams (or maybe his cousin Cory) this is a cool video. Especially if you ride this path (like I do.) You can see some of the aforementioned "close in" bike handling skills.
