Hm. Two 23" monitors showed up at work. Now I have to tell the Missus that I bought two 23" monitors for the house.

It's only recently that my bike purchases haven't been met with scrutiny, right now I'm lobbying for the purchase of a wireless router she knows is so I can play Xbox online.

Tip: Wait for the Missus to call with an IT support question. In the middle of answering it, when she says "The baby is crying, I have to go", say really fast "Ijustboughtsomemonitorsfortheoffice".

Weather looks promising for Saturday. Several guys showing up for a nasty training ride. Prolly 100+ miles.
One more week until the biggest race I've ever done ever. Can't wait.

Weather here for Saturday, iffy. Probably shoot for 75 ish as I know that they will try and bury me. Home get cleaned up afterwards and head for the gym for weight work.

Subby what race is coming up?

Tour de Moore. 110+ mile P/1/2 race.
This year is about getting used to the pace and distances in these races. Next year I want to start placing in, at least, the payout spots. Just taking my time and enjoying it.

And it's Stubby. Remember?

You are correct. I remember those days. First 50 or so would be like a club ride then it was on like Donkey Kong.

You have a good soigneur for the feed zone?

As it is your first time at that level make sure you have someone good (preferable with experience). Couple of pointers for them:
1. Arrange beforehand where they will stand
2. Get them to wear something very bright and recognizable
3. Get them to run with you when you grab your mussette - remember you'll be rolling through the feedzone faster than a 3 field does
4. MOST IMPORTANT - tell them not to hang that mussette out too early, someone (like me ), will grab it and you are fooooked.
5. If you can arrange it have a soigneur at the beginning and end of feedzone - beginning with food, end with bottles, trying to refill with food and bottles in the same mussette is difficult/heavy

I'm sure you knew all this already but it may help others out a little as well.

Incorrect. There are a few of them. The first one is out my way in the Berkshires.

Thanks for the pointers, man. Much appreciated.
I'm hoping some of the women on the team will be there. They usually do it and they've had experience.

That's cool - tell them to pay particular attention to number 4 - depending on field size (for me it was 110+) it can be intimidating to some as it can get pretty hectic.
Forgot to ask - do you have proper mussettes?
I had one when I was younger which I kept as a souvenir - it was a National Team member's mussette who was also National RR Champion - that will teach ya!!!! At that point I had taken the mussette from a National Team coach who I later spoke with as they had been watching my development and he got a kick out of me taking it. Kinda crappy food in it anyways (pop tarts I think).

The prohibited list is a bit deeper than EPO, HGH, and steroids. Best to familiarize oneself with what's on the list and which items in ones home (or GNC) actually contain banned substances. I'm willing to bet that many rec cyclists in possession of a soapbox might be surprised.

Ah. I thought the Sparta Cycling one was in PA, not the Berkshires. I recall a release saying it was the only UCI one (and maybe it was, at the time).
