thanks everyone! I feel very thankful to have the support of my family and a hell of a coach who has reined in my tendency to needlessly flog myself into submission.

Perhaps not, but Cat 1 is still the playground of ex-pros and Olympians. You're in pretty rare air.
The funny part is that you downplay it, but I just cannot ever conceive of getting a Cat 1 license. That is something that will just never happen for me regardless of anything that I do. Seriously, congrats.

Hopefully they get things straightened out.
I had a guy take me down based on his stupidity caused me a grade 5 AC Sep and a crushed wrist. Put me out for three months post surgery. It's racing.
If Jon did it - shame on you Jon. But others beware, sometimes you poke a pitbull - he's going to bite you in the ass.

First day of summer classes and I'm teaching.
Go to the classroom early to check everything out and find that I cannot log into the computer at the podium. I wanted to go over some stuff with the class on the Sakai site I created for the course, so having this was essential. Normally I don't do anything with computers and screens while lecturing, but it was essential today.
It turns out that the campus Academic Technology folks just updated the classroom computer, but forgot to allow anyone else to log in. WTF? Good thing that a secondary computer and projector on a "side" screen hadn't been 'updated'.

Oh, and it's a good time to remind you that you should always test your crap at least 30 minutes before needing it for a lecture...

Congratulations Gary. I'm dreaming of the day when I can upgrade to the equivalent of cat 3. At the moment it is a pipe dream.

We were using disposables (newborn size etc). We just started experimenting with the cloth diapers we got from my siblings (25 of them? with maybe 50 inserts).
We're thinking that we'll use the disposables on trips and for any swim type things. But for the "3 pees in 20 minutes at home" times cloth works pretty well, now that he's bigger than the diaper. The baby has to be bigger than the diaper, that's a good rule to follow.
We're washing them ourselves.
Reminds me of when I was a kid and helped my mom with my two younger siblings. Back then it was safety pins and cotton cloth, none of these velcro/snap adjustable waterproof outer with multi layer and replaceable inners.
Incidentally we used to skip every other weekly garbage pick up because frankly we don't generate that much garbage. Now the big can is full after a week, and most of it is diapers.
Yes we change him often. As a sis-in-law said, "The S boys are delicate flowers, all of them." Meaning her husband (my bro), me, all the nephews, etc etc. Junior can sense 4 drops of urine in the Sahara Desert, and he'll scream bloody murder until they're cleaned up. Okay, he doesn't scream but he really doesn't like it.

No need. I won't need the computer again until Exam 1 when I show the NIST web clock on the screen. (www.time.gov)
Actually I showed up 20 minutes early in case there were some issues. I never expected this kind of foul-up. Another 10 minutes wouldn't have done much.
And it all worked flawlessly on the secondary system.
