Im driving about 100 miles with the hopes that it's only light rain for a race tomorrow morning. Do it

It's a decent course, with about a mile of hard pack/washboard stuff.

4's are at 10:05. Kick your leave time back to 11 and you're good.

Just got back from the TT stage of the Tucson Bicycle Classic. 92 degrees. I redlined the whole time.

edit: All I know is that I’m not DFL!

LAJ you in? I am, unless it is dumping. I'm going with the 45+ group because I'm told I need good ass whippin'.

Hammy the way I read the forecast is 30% chance of hail, fire and brimstone, and 70% chance of fair weather accompanied by a lot of self-inflicted pain.

gentlemen, they're tools, not jewels.

On my commute this morning someone fitting that description kept surging past me, blowing up, falling back, only to surge again. He looked at me oddly when I asked him if the cards in the spokes make him more aero.

I plan on it, though I don't know if I can do the 45+, rwt. I will see come registration. Of course, Fort Collins is on fire over by Horsetooth, according to a friend.

Im out. shrug.
The wife was the final voice of reason- I told her I was trying to decide whether or not to drive up and she says-

"uh, is this race important? Why are you contemplating driving 70 mi to (possibly) race in the rain? Dont you have enough hinges in your collarbones?"

Of my planned races this year, only two don't include motel stays. This isn't by choice, it's just the way things are. 70 miles? Meh. I've driven farther for group rides.

Having said that, your wife's question does have a certain logic.

Honestly, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that. I think you're putting way too much thought/energy into this.

I think he means that you seem to look forward to aggressive group rides and informal race-like events than actual, sanctioned, money-paying, points-counting races. Like he said, nothing wrong with that.

As it relates to riding it is not only wet but gets you and your bike dirty.
