Thanks peeps.
Been researching track stuff all day. Looks like so much fun.
May just build up a bike. There's a deal for Blue TR250 frame/form/seatpost for $400 shipped that looks pretty yummy to build off of and could flip it if I didn't end up going to the track much. Guess I could live without power for a while. Though a wired SRM just came up on wattage forums for $500 I could probably convert to track for the time being. Wouldn't have the track strains...But hmm...

Before you make your purchase(s), consider the following:
2B13: "Riders may carry no object on them or on their bicycles that could fall onto the track. Any electronic device with a display (speedometer, power meter, etc) must be hidden such that the riders cannot read it while riding."
So, as an after-the-fact analysis tool, no prob. See Ex's earlier pic.

it really depends. at masters nats in 2011 they didn't enforce that, and they don't for weekday racing at either of the tracks I go to.

Really good friend of mine (who I got into cycling. Went from 235# down to 180# in ~10 months) just bought a Dolan Track Champion to be his dedicated track bike after he realized his previous one was a size too small. Looks all business.
He's really excited for the start of the season.

They need to fix the back button as well, one way or another. Going back should not put you on page one.

ah okay. The promoter's area is unchanged for what pages I've been on - adding/moving riders, printing releases, listing of my races on the site, etc.
