they're very different cities. from what i've seen boston definitely has less "bad" areas but there are a lot more good things about baltimore than people give it credit for and there's a sense of "baltimore pride" which is hard to describe. i enjoyed living there and wouldn't hate living there again in the future. the riding outside of baltimore is better than out of boston. boston has a more vibrant cycling community.

I stayed downtown in Baltimore that last couple years for work. There are some downtown areas that are pretty cool with nice restaurants, nightlife, etc. On the other hand, I had a morning off and walked around until I found Poe's house. The neighborhood was scarier than anything he ever wrote about.

Let the bleepin' kids do the crashing, dammit! We're too old for that stuff.

Hope you're just banged up rather than broken.

That sucks a lot, I had some idiot kick my front wheel on his pedal stroke today, but luckily I managed to stay up even if it botched my move.

On the bright side you'll get the same GC time as the rest.

Besides, I'm guessing they are just bruised.

I'm in a bad mood. I had a month left on my calendar and had real good form. There are wtf moments in life where what you're doing seems of questionable wisdom.

Sorry to hear G. I hope you and Ken are able to heal up quick and well. When you make it out to masters track, keep an eye out for the folks from SpinCycles. Good bunch of guys from around here.

it's time to outlaw cameras. racing is dangerous enough without them flying through the field.

Crashed today. Nothing like what others have been through (hope you're ok gstein). Training ride with a group. We had just started easing up a bit, a guy came up on my left and inexplicably decided to make a right turn into me. Broken wheel seems to be the biggest mechanical issue. Physically, bruised hand and a chainring gouge on my shin. Managed to walk to a friend's house about a 1/4 mile away borrow a wheel, and keep riding. Bloody leg and all.

I cleaned out the chainring wound with soap and water, and covered with Neosporin and bandage, but it still looks like there is grease in the wound. Should I worry about it? Any advice?
