worked out what i need to do (weight savings off the bike & body + power increase) in order to meet a time target. will be interesting (well, to me at least) to see if i can make it happen.

be my guest! they're not going to see tarmac here for at least 3 months. they're super light but are stronger than you'd think. that said, i did go radial lacing with a lower spoke count by choice, as i'm on the lighter end of things.

Ran out of heating oil ... ooops. Watching the Olympics next to the fireplace.
Couple of trips to buy 30 gal of diesel, bleed the line, back in business. Gonna take a while to warm the house back up though. Hot water bottles at bedtime maybe. (Old seltzer bottles work well).
My daughter is wearing three blankets. My son is so cold that in addition to a t-shirt and his usual shorts, he is also wearing socks.

^ha

I'm glad you're up and running. No heat tonight would be a real bummer.

May be late to the party here, but hope everyone in the Southeast is doing ok. The weather does not look good down that way. This has been one whacked winter for sure.

I'm tired of it.
Schools announced they were closed this morning at 6 am, why not let us know the night before.... RRRRRRRRRRRR

But we have not really received bad weather, just been cold for the entire winter...

This Louisiana resident is about to buy a tuque and some Labatt's, eh? Eighty miles north of the Gulf of Mexico, and I have to wait until lunch to ensure the bridges aren't iced over for my ride.

Pretty much iced in here in the ATL. Luckily working from home. Not nearly as bad as the last storm, however that ice is gonna be a problem at some point. Hopefully I can keep my power.

And this is why I moved from the midwest. Could not deal with not being able to ride for 4 months out of the year. I don't consider riding the trainer, riding. Also I rode in the winter last year and it was not pleasant. Constantly worrying which gear I need to stay warm and constantly worrying about the weather forecast.

Not for me.

This week we are back to regular scheduled broadcasting of 75 degrees and sunny.

I HATE the cold. I rather it be 120deg

Last year wasn't too bad, this year has been horrific. Everyday is well below freezing with large winds. I'm not a fan

Lived in MN, never went outside, really.

Lived in Chicago, ran outside occasionally.

Live in CA, 500+ hours outdoors on the bike each of the last 4 years.

I moved away from the Midwest too because of the cold winters. I thought Texas would be better, but apparently they're experiencing the coldest, longest winter since.... ever. At least the skin on my hands aren't dried up and cracking like they were back in Iowa. And I'm not having to drive through snow, or -10 deg wind chill running through my jeans into my knee caps.
