I don't know how much 5.1 is, but it sounds newsworthy the way you're putting it. I thought it was just one of those tremors that happen all the time over there.

c\mon schools!! Don't leave me hanging.. there's no friggin way I'm going to pay $40k/year to attend UCLA, with little prospect of available positions.
maybe I should get a masters degree first, get a kickass GPA and do it again.
or get a research position somewhere in california, work for a year and qualify for instate tuition, so that professors won't avoid me like a plague. For some stupid ass reason, the professors are supposed come up with the funding for out of state tuition for graduate students, when most other schools just waive the fee. STUPID

I have 3 pairs of shoes and 4 bikes with old Look type pedals of one kind or another. No real reason to "upgrade". They work, and I'm not a weight weenie.

yeah it's really odd. after it started hurting i tried to ride/race through it for a week and it was just getting worse. took 6 days off and tried to ride an it still hurt like hell. 7 more days off and suddenly it's 100% pain free. i'm easing back into things, but it seems 100%. injured it doing a 5 hour ride with a pretty heavy backpack on, then having to ride home the next day for 3 hours. which was dumb.

Just finished the Georgetown accepted student introduction weekend. It was really interesting, and i'm really excited for next year. Kids are nice, classes seem interesting, i like d.c, and the campus is cool.

I've been through a few quakes, including Loma Prieta, and the thing I've noticed is that when the shaking starts you don't know if it's going to keep going or not.

Picked up some race fairings today. Now all I have to do is find time to hit the track more often. No longer have to worry about rashing up OEM fairings, $$$$, and with spare wheels don't have to change tires back and forth.
ride lots be safe
