Well, I'm sorta back in one piece.
The doc said to come back in a month and we'll discuss getting back on the bike then, but I'll probably be on the trainer in a couple of days. In the meantime I've got a huge yard to mow...it's almost to the "Humphrey Bogart in The African Queen" level now.

No, you lunge forward towards the dasboard, and try to beat the passenger.

I dive bomb corners in my minivan, throw elbows out my window when merging, cross the yellow line when passing, and jump from 10 deep to make a yellow light.

I made a slight mistake at work.
I was filling out a bunch of reimbursement requests and check requests to pay vendors, and I mistakenly requested a check to pay one of the vendors even though I had put that charge on my credit card. (Have the charges were on my credit card and half were to be directly paid by the state.)
I noticed the charge yesterday, but it didn't click in my head until about 4 am this morning what I had done.
And I just found out that the reimbursement check was mailed two days ago. So, I now have to chase down the vendor to have them send it back and then I can submit for reimbursement for myself.

I've been known to tell drivers in front of me to hold their line. Last thanksgiving, had food poisoning and was riding back from a family gathering in the front passenger seat of my father-in-law's car as he seemed determined to use up every in of his lane, and I kind of muttered it to myself then too, but that was more of a mantra to focus on so I wouldn't get sick again - as it was, we were visiting a McDonalds every couple exits (they are always near exits, easy to find, open on Thanksgiving - I did buy something for the folks in the car at about every other stop so I didn't feel too bad about using their facilities).

Also, I've blown two front tubulars in the last three weeks.
On the first one, I hit a piece of gravel on a downhill and the tire blew. It was getting close to needing to be replace, so no big deal.
Then yesterday, I came home and saw my other front tubular wheel had fallen over. I picked it up to find it was flat with a giant hole in the side. I'm not sure what happened. I raced on it on Tuesday night and it seemed fine then. And it was fine on Wednesday morning when I took it off the bike.
It was a fairly old tire, but there was still lots of life left in it.
Anyway, I guess it's a good thing I have accumulated three sets of race wheels, as two of them are currently out of commission and need new tires glued on. (The third set is technically my wife's, but I'm going to use it this weekend.)

I think it's the combination of having given up on life, and also the distractions of Sponge-Bob playing in the background.
I swear it's always the minivans around here you gotta watch out for!!

Spawn has a guitar lesson with this guy this week. He did a kickstarter for his new album, and one of the rewards was a lesson. He's opening for ani difranco locally this week, and he got us tickets and backstage passes to do the lesson. Pretty awesome.

I've been having a bit of trouble breathing lately. It started in early March and has been getting worse. The best way to describe it is I feel like I am wearing a really tight compression shirt all the time. My wife has even asked if I'm ok because just sitting around or lying in bed reading, she noticed I seem to be working hard to breathe. And during races or really hard efforts, it's awful.
I went to my asthma doctor this week thinking that maybe my asthma was getting worse. He had me do a pulmonary function test, ran some blood tests and took a chest X-ray and so far everything looks normal. Now he has me on a load of prednisone.
And if that doesn't work, he wants me to do a stress test to see if it is my heart and not my lungs that are the problem.
So after 18 months of rehabbing my knee, my legs feel great but I breathe like crap.

Pro marathon runners are done in 2ish hours. People who die during marathons from hyponatremia are usually out there 5-6 hours.
When my friend/clubmate got hyponatremia during his first RAAM he gained 15 pounds of water, and he's a small guy. There was a threat of tornadoes so they had him get off the road, and he ended up in the hospital when everyone realized he had a problem.
I had a great ride today, 20+ friends came out for my birthday ride to Mount Baldy. One guy went up there last night with a cake that had my picture on it. The restaurant kept the cake until today, I was surprised big time.

I made my ham sandwich a bit on the thin side this morning, so I bought a small chili at the cafeteria. #immagonnagetfat

My bike fell off of my trainer this morning, and in the process somehow broke the di2 cable going to the rear derailleur. Hopefully replacing it isn't too big of a pain with the internal wiring and rear junction box. I may end up just slicing the new tip into the old wire(it broke at the plug going into the derailleur)

I have a new cable coming, the hard part is getting it plugged into the junction box hidden in my frame as I can get to one side of it with the shifter and battery in, but the other side with the front/rear deraillure outs is all but impossible. It looks like there are only 2 wires in the casing so a strip/solder/wrap job shouldn't be too difficult but I'll treat that as last resort.

The junction box is tiny. Did you install it yourself? Are you familiar with what is inside the frame? Do you understand that it plugs together and the junctions are covered with heat shrink tubing? Typically the junction box is stuffed in the downtube. If you have a BB30 or PF30 BB the wires are usually run underneath the BB shell. It's a tight fit, so you may need to poke and prod them a bit to get them back through the hole in the BB shell that's covered with a plug. I suggest that you pull the crank first. Chase the junction box back through the BB hole, then find the RD cable. Slit the heat shrink carefully with a razor. Disconnect and remove the old cable. Fish the new one in from the RD end of the chainstay. Put a new piece of heat shrink over the cable end, plug it into the junction box, and seal.
That RD cable is about $9.
