I'm happy with where my contact points are. So I believe I only have "sitting" issues. FWIW, on today's ride I tried to be as light on the saddle as I could and it seemed to help. I've of course done that before but invariably I lose concentration/focus and get back to bad sitting habits. I guess when I posted above, I was looking for easy ways to fix it.

Recovery week, taking it easy on the bike path, because if I go to the practice crit to spin I'll get talked into joining the pack.

What has killed my training more than any rides has been day off activities. That concert I walked up a steep grade several times (if you've been to the Hollywood Bowl you know what I'm talking about) and combined with the lack of sleep (got maybe 3 hours) killed my legs. Maybe its because I'm getting old. I don't remember having these issues in my 20's.

After 2x15 @ FTP on Monday and a nice easy enjoyable Z2 ride on Tuesday, due to scheduling issues with life I only had Wednesday left to ride before Saturday's long ride. To keep to my schedule I was scheduled to do 2x15's again. But...my legs were still carrying fatigue from playing basketball on Sunday an the Monday intervals. And my attitude was not good about it. So I decided to just go for a ride. Maybe a hard ride. I ended up pushing a bit. And then a bit more. And then attacking hills. And then feeling good and having fun. Set a personal best on this course by almost a whole MPH (almost 2 minutes over 17.6 miles). Still got a good workout in and enjoyed it.

It rained on the noon ride. I don't remember anything else.

****ing wet, muddy, and of course idiots crashed because it hasn't rained in 6 months and the first rain turns the roads to oil slicks.

Well, I think I did it again. Serious lack of motivation right now. Four weeks ago, I rode very close to some all time PR numbers. I immediately backed way off with a rest week, followed by another very low hour week cause I just wasn't able to go hard. That was followed by yet another week where I was just not feeling it. I have been training exclusively on my own as I just didn't want to take any chance of going down and I'm pretty sure this has added to my issue. I was planning on pinning up this Sunday but it seems less likely right now. I tried pushing through these blocks in the past and it ended up making things worse. I thought backing off for several weeks would do it but I guess going from injured/couch to 15-20 hour weeks for 3 months is a recipe for disaster.

Lifting twice a week from here until spring I think. We'll see how it goes, but at least I'll put some mass back on.
My week has been
Sunday 2 hours z2/3
Monday nothing-sick
Tuesday lift
Wednesday recovery spin
Today openers

Feeling nice and lazy but still riding enough to not get fat. Win

No riding today, and easy tomorrow. Two off days in a row is weird, but I'm trying to keep volume down to keep feeling strong through the last 2 races of the year. A decent result would be a nice way to end a season, but in the end, no matter how strong I'm feeling, I need either smart quick decisions for a field sprint, or a bunch of aggressive racing for a breakaway (or both). I'm leaning aggressive for Oakland GP, and probably for Henleyville RR as well.

Just dicking around for now. Some (light) sqauts, hip adductor, hip abductor, and step-ups. I hurt my back from dead lifting too much too soon earlier this year, so I really take it easy with the lower body lifting.

Since I don't believe in Cyclocross my lot in life is FTP work throughout the fall. The structured **** starts today and ends when I cry uncle and/or the cows come home.

Finishing off a big couple weeks with 6x10 @ 100%. All 6 efforts were within a 4 watt range and I felt like there was more in the tank. Usually means it's time to bump up FTP... but I always hate to do that because it makes workouts harder!

Fat Boy Intervals. I like these. Not a huge time commitment but pretty damn tough and a feeling of accomplishment when you hit all the targets.

Found a loop outside San Jose to ride easy while my car brakes got replaced. Well... it turned out to have a 2000' climb, so I ended up riding REALLY slowly and taking longer than planned. About 2:30 easy riding, went into Z2 a bit on the climb. The descent was amazing though!

First trainer ride since the crash 3 weeks ago. Felt good to sweat, but wow, hard. Fitness is gone. Z1 power, Z3 Heart Rate. Managed 30 minutes and felt great afterwards. Ortho says to riding on the road till December, which I will probably have to obey due to wife.

you didn't lose all your fitness, just your PE meter is way off from weeks of lounging about.

anyway, it's good timing. I started very gingerly riding this time last year and came into the season flying. I'm sure you'll find something similar.
