Training Status??? (III)

mini-training camp with the team down south (SLO) this weekend, good times.
somehow it was 10 degrees warmer down there, felt pretty hot at 75f.
900-something tss for the week, build 1 is pretty much done! rest week next week.
also, my sprint is back! guess those force reps helped.
edit: some more numbers that are only meaningful to me: 106 ctl, -27 tsb. stick a fork in me!

Yikes...my ctl is much lower than that (like 20 points lower). I took about 2-3 months off to wrap up school and started training again for real in early December. ctl has jumped about 30 points since then.

1:40 last night. Thought for sure it was going to suck as sore as my legs were yesterday...ended up being high endurance low tempo, with power almost being evenly split between the 2 zones.

I keep getting tss and ctl envy and have to remind myself that you fools are in California and are months ahead in build mode and have started racing on top of it.
Today is off, then round 3 of base starts.

Went to the track today. When I arrived, it was foggy and the parking lot was wet. When my motorpacer arrived, we decided it was okay to train. Weather got better as the morning progressed. Did a kilo from a standing start plus two other efforts. The kilo was ugly but broke a lot of rust off. Fun session with one other racer, my wife and me.

It was 40 and sunny in MA, a veritable heat wave, so I took the bike out for 2hrs. Of course the wind kind of sucked, except when it was a tailwind. i thought roads would be relatively dry but ended up going through some areas where they are still wet from melting snow/rain. Needless to say I had a lot of road salt to clean up at the end. This may be the only time I'll ever be able to pick up KOMs on strava before all the better folks come along again!

Legs were a tad spent but this finished em off. Close to 7000 feet climbing 185 TSS, 2100ish KJ's. Didn't quite make it to the summit but that extra 10 miles / 2000 feet would have put me in the hurt lock for the next few days. Ice bath incoming.

Been really off the wagon the last couple weeks. Very distracted, mentally tired from house stuff. Back on the horse this week. Did 1:45 with 50 minutes Z3 Sunday in some rain.
TKP, I'm excited/frightened to do some racing against you this spring. If everything keeps going well, you're probably going to be flying.

If there is a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory you may rest assured I will find it with alacrity.

Finally got outside today for 3 hours of tempo. Hoping to get some good volume and Z4 work in over the next couple of weeks.
Last year, the week before MLK day I did 17.5 hours! 4 hours last week, mostly on the trainer looking at ice out the window.

Nothing for me today. I've been fending off the flu the past few days with tamiflu, which has kept it at bay for the most part, but don't want to risk doing too much and compromising myself.

If you guys do intervals on successive days (tues, wed, thurs) would you start with high zones and work toward lower, or alternate?

3x10 sweet spot last night. Have to adjust my training a little because my vacation took a little more fitness from me than I was expecting. Good news is I think I have plenty of time to get back and hit my goals. First race in March, but first A races not till May

Only if you're a crit racer.
Leaving shortly for a 3:30 ride...with intervals.

Higher intensity efforts are more affected by fatigue though, so they're more commonly put first.like everything else, it varies based on what your priorities are, what scheduling you can realistically do, and whatever else matters.
