On some other sites, I've read about folks having issues with Weider bar bells bending and actually snapping under loads above 300lbs. Are these bars really designed that poorly? Any suggestions on how to identify what the bar is? I got this off craigslist so don't know any history of it.

Take a picture of the end of it. I wold struggle to believe that they have broken. I have bent some bars but that was pulling narrow grip and well above 300.

Yeah, i'm skeptical of them "snapping" as other sites said- unless it's unusually brittle steel, that's just not how it works. But, the fact that multiple posters on different sites said they wouldn't trust the bar over 300lb gave me pause. Here are the end caps and sleeves:

I've used them and not had any issues. Just watch for things like rust and to see if it actually bends.

So without access to any weights right now...what do you guys think about bodyweight squats/lunges/other exercises?

Now that I think of it...I can use the bowflex for squats. Forgot about that.

I'll email you a workout that doesn't require weights. It will bury you.

Hit the gym earlier. Nothing like a good leg workout to remind you how bad leg DOMS can be!

My gardener has one of his men trimming ivy using a hand clipper. The ivy is big and thick. He has been at it for about 30 minutes of non stop cutting. I would say that his grip strength is pretty good and has excellent right hand FTP. Plus no gloves.

I let that one hang a while.

While lack of success is often attributed to too young, too old or gender - if a result is achieved, why not look at the test case?

'let'

You seem to have a tendency to troll this thread…probably not the best way to make friends. And this was addressed in a number of various posts, including one by Mikey.

Doper...

In all seriousness good job. I dialed back heavy chest work for a bit and hit it hard this week. That 90 isn't far off what I pushed this week. Keep it up.

Went to use the bowflex last night for squats..no dice. Don't have the right attachment. Did some more body weight stuff. Eventually I think I want to get ahold of some weights..but im sure right now bodyweight is better than nothing at all?

I need something like this, but shorter I think, for monster walks. I have some I've tied on my own, but the knots tend to slip over time and they're getting old and a bit worn out.

Robot Check

Someone else also told me to look into TRX. No clue what it is in detail. Anyone play around with it?

I have a resistance band (actually I think I have 2), but I guess I never thought to use them for this. Will have to do that next time

I have some very similar to those, G, and have been pretty happy with them; they're plenty tacky, so the knots won't slip. The only thing about them, is that they will rip the hell out of any leg hair you may have. Yay cycling legs.

TRX is an amazing system for the type of workouts you do (very functional). You simply anchor it to a door frame or wall and go. Tons of different exercises to do with it.
