echappist and Johnnybutts - great write ups!

No racing for me this weekend. Still recovering from sickness last week. I got on the MTB for the first time in forever on Friday and joined a local team ride this Saturday. Planning on the local Tuesday Nighter (never been before so no idea what to expect) and Thursday Driveway crit this week. Time to get back to work!

Yeah, that wind was whackadoo.

First races back after norovirus. Still don't have all my reserves back it seems.

Did the 3/4's followed by the 1/2/3. Tried to hold an attack with 1 to go in the 3/4's but got caught on the back stretch where the wind was much like a brick wall. Did way too much work the first half of the 1/2/3 and straight up bonked with 12 laps to go. So it goes.

I bet it does. You are a Cat1 gorger. I'm just a Cat2. Give it time. Upgrade points carry over year to year now.

At least I'm a Cat 1 something. I have the genetics for it.

Wait, what? So my 25 expired points actually count again? For serious?

What is this witchcraft, why didn't I get the memo, and how long until everyone is given an attaboy upgrade after a full year of racing?

That's my understand too, though I don't think the rulebook was very clear on this. It just didn't mention anything about previously earned points, iirc.

Yes it did: all points earned in 2012 count. Anything before then does not. So if you earned 7 points in December 2011, they're gone. If you earned 1 point in January 2012, you still have it.

I don't know how it could be more clear than this. Rulebook. Red sections. Read.

1E1(d) Points for all voluntary upgrade requests may only date
back to January 1, 2012.

So do my points from December 2011 count?
