Theoretically there could be a tiny adaptation due to beige fat that exists in the neck and clavicle areas.

are they saying that the type of BF one has may influence this performance?
when i was last tested by DEXA i was 8.x% BF, so i could see that absence of BF could have an adverse impact on performance. OTOH, i'm pretty sure contador could outclimb me in antarctica.
speaking of clavicles...clavicle plate coming out soon!

Not at all, it was a giant reach. Basically if you expose certain adipocyte cells in your neck and clavicle area to cold they will begin to produce heat directly from fatty acids. I jumped to that if your neck is warmer you may experience less discomfort in the cold.
