I like to ride my expensive bike on centuries, double centuries and things like the Death Ride, Shasta Summit Century etc. Also, when I hopefully get to be a good racer, I would like to then use it in my races as well. I agree it would be silly to buy one and never ride it.

Ugh. This thread gives me the willies. Tomorrow I'm entering a Cat5 crit and it's predicted to rain with 25 mph gusts. I'll be riding my expensive bike. I think I'm going to either stay way up front or way down back.
