Yeah, they call it 110 asymmetric. Actually one of the best recent developments I have seen especially with the fact that Powermeters are so common nowadays.

That does make it kind of nice that you can swap rings between compact and standard and whatever that middle one(52/36 or whatever) is called.

55/34 with an 11-32 11 speed, for when you need to go really slow up and really, really fast down.

As for the chainring swap, I could definitely use my existing mid compact rings, I'm just not sure how complicated it is to do so. I'm pretty much married to the new 4 bolt standard (chainrings are out, ugh) unless I change the entire crank which will be tough (if I get something new, which I'm inclined to do after warrantying 4x Stages arms) as I'm still using a hollowtech 2/threaded BB. And I want to switch to speedplay this year so no pedals. And I want to keep using my HED Jets (6 and 9) so no powertap hub.

So yeah. If a used SRM can be relied upon, that could be an option. Or I can hunt around for a deal on Pioneer left side only, because in reality I'm buying two of whatever I get. DINKs for the win.

FWIW, I've had good luck with my used SRM PM6.

Relevant to my complaints about tubeless a couple pages back: I've re-taped my rims and have set up my wheels with cyclocross tires. I did this last year and it worked well. If it keeps working through the season with these tires on a new tape job, I'll consider giving it another shot with road tires in the spring. It could just be that the original tape job (rims came taped from the builder) was inadequate. The stuff I'm using now is thicker. If anyone is curious, it's Scotch strapping tape, 8896. I've compared it to the official Stan's tape, and it appears to be the exact same stuff, only much cheaper. Like, 1/3 or even 1/4 of the price. Crazy.

That yellow dye in their tape must be super expensive ;)

I think there was a thread in the 41 about non-cycling specific stuff that was just as good or better than cycling-specific.

In the day I was using this for high temp magnetic coils I was also riding to work. I thought this would make a great spoke hole tape. It did. Most of my time was on tubulars, but I started using this for the tandem were I ran 150PSI with no tape issues.
This is polyimide the same stuff Contenental started making tires from. Very tough stuff.
