What year's TdF was the first one not to start in France, and where did it start. There have been many first stages that started in France and ended elsewhere, but Im looking for the first time the start line for the first stage was outside of France. When and Where..... hopefully this will take an hour of two for you guys.. hahaa... |
Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1954?
|
Wow, you guys are good....
Csson, take it.. |
Ok :).
Which town was the first to host a stage finish for both Giro d'Italia and Tour de France in the same year, and what year was it? |
Wow, tough one. Closest I can get is 1955 in Cannes and Monaco. The Giro raced Turin-Cannes; the Tour, Briancon-Monaco. Same city right?
|
Nope :).
|
Maybe this was harder than I meant it to be.. A couple of hints:
* I believe it has only happened once. * There's a famous climb just outside the town that was included in both stages. * The Giro stage also included that years Cima Coppi. Passo Stelvio is the only climb used in the history of the Giro that is higher than this particular climb. |
Sestrieres? No idea on the year....
|
bump....
