Evidently someone has started pouring oil on the descents of Glendora Mountain Road (GMR) in the hope that someone will die. Probably aimed more at motorcyclists than cyclists.

I saw video from a motorcyclist on ******. It's pretty damning.

Guilty, he'd probably enjoy it.

I've been around the same boring sunshine all my life - from Africa to SoCal.
You sent your kid to Notre Dame. I knew there was a reason I didn't like you.

I'm on GMR now. I'll go looking for oil in a bit. I forgot to warn my kid, and forgot to warn my kid. I'm not so happy he best Strava records lately have negative slope in them.

So he saw oil and said it was on the ascent.

Even if they clean it up, there is still a good chance those spots will be slick when it rains.

We frequently hold races on a banked oval car-race circuit - it's basically for amateur NASCAR racers. There is such a collection of oils and other motor vehicle chemicals on the asphalt that we cannot race there in the rain. It is like being on a slip n' slide.

I recognize that it's bad, and just meant that it being on the ascent was unintentionally cyclist-friendly.

We have semi-annual tack scatterings around here. People have been hurt before.

Anyone order from Pro Bike Kit recently and have a delay in the delivery? Anything I have ordered has usually made it to me within a week or two..but it is past the expected delivery date and it still hasn't shown up for my last order. Luckily it isn't something I need right now (I wouldn't order from oversee for something like that) but it is still annoying.

I've been waiting on my new car stereo for 9 days now. It was Free shipping with no options to upgrade, who thought they'd send it ground from Detroit to Los Angeles? I've been tracking it and everyday it make it through one state, and even went back east for a few miles.

It is finally on the truck for delivery, today.

PBK is a PITA. Make sure your credit card company hasn't put a hold on the charge. If everything cleared then it's probably held up in customs. That happens with every UK vendor but seemingly more so with PBK. I try and avoid them as much as possible but I could not pass up the GP4000s II deal today. These are spares so I'm not pressed for time. In general I would not order anything from a UK vendor if you need it right away, even though many times stuff shows up in 2-3 days. It's unpredictable.

Ive never had an issue with PBK (or any of the other UK retailers). Payment cleared the day after I submitted the order.

I bought those last Friday from Merlin, they said it shipped Monday. I can let you know when they come in, but I expect to get them within the next week.

For those that have raced unattached, do you just wear a plain jersey during the race?

Before I joined the team I'm on, I did. I think I only have one plain jersey.

I asked about this two years ago and the general consensus was that as long as you weren't wearing the kit of a pro team, a local team or one in the race, you were fine. But yes, you should wear a plain jersey. I bought a Castelli Jersey and matching bibs so I had my own little race kit. It made it easier to recognize myself when I was looking for me in the peloton.
