I get why Froome is up there, but I wonder how he'd feel if a bunch of sprinters clogged the road leading to a tight turn before a tactical climb.
The sprint itself was argy bargy. Maybe over the top, but maybe not. Entertaining though.

Dauphine has been entertaining!
Aru's magical win - holding the pack off by about 10" for what 10k or something? Crazy! When he attacked with the pack right behind him I thought "dumb move"... shows what I know.
Then the sprint yesterday was pretty cray - no way I'd be able to survive the last few k's! So. Much. Risk. And that one guy ate **** hard.
Today's stage not bad either.
All around good stuff.

Also, Tour de Suisse.
Sagan pretty much owns it.
Even when his interviews are in Italian you can pretty much tell what he's saying "I dunno... I don't give a ****"
So funny.

It's been a good race so far. Wish we got more of the power data, but I understand why we don't. Cancellara was doing 450-500 watts in the prologue, even going 1000W+ in the uphill section near the start. Sagan was doing 1200+ at the finish line today.

I think it's a matter of time until we get all the data during the broadcast. Cycling will be like poker and holecams. That's a GOOD thing. It revolutionized people's willingness to watch poker...and the sport exploded (I used to play professionally during that era...omg...such good times). The data may make casual viewing more likely...and possibly lead to better revenue streams for teams.

Anyway I think the live GoPro stuff that they had during the Dauphine is more interesting - at least for me. Even when it looks like a sanguine stage, in the pack they're jockeying for position/etc.
Seeing a live GoPro during a sprint is something I'd pay extra for!

Tour de Suisse finish today - holy **** van Poppel did an amazing job staying upright!
Imagine that finish in an amateur crit... would be a huge pileup I bet.

Maybe - the problem is that 30 mph isn't all that impressive to Joe Nascar - or even Joe Driver. Driving at 30 mph feels REALLY slow. Riding at 30 mph does feel/is fast, of course.

So that French race.
Cav won a sprint! I was shocked, I figured his Tour-winning days were over (given lack of a super duper leadout train). Then again, he's got a decent one.
Then Sagan today wow... awesome how patient he was, but risky too! Whenever I wait like that to pounce, it seems like it's the guys behind me (that are waiting to pounce too) that I need to worry more about...

90 miles at 20mph. 50 miles at 30 mph. I wonder if this is how the old TdF was before satellite TV...

I totally understand giving Voeckler the red number for lighting up the race today (otherwise I'm not sure anyone would have stayed awake for the last hour), but the other guy should get some kind of award. Going solo at the gun on a 230km race? That's gotta take some guts, even if the pack is just eating and peeing.

Fonseca should get an award for souplesse. It's like his legs weren't even connected to his upper body, he was making it look easy.

Cav!
I used to hate him for some reason, now I find it hard to.
Maybe it's because he's become kind of an underdog against Greipel & Kittel.
What's up with Kittel anyway? A drag race like that should've been easy for him (on paper).

did you happen to catch his end-of-stage interview? he made a comment about how he actually won a sprint in Qatar but the camera angle had it wrong. pretty weird comment!

Seems his leadout train is ****. Even in today's stage with 500m or so to go he's got his final two guys sprinting side by side basically giving Sagan and Coquard a leadout as well.
