That explains the belt drive on your bike.

So, other than in the last min of the race...what things have you done/do you do to disrupt smoothness and efficiency?

Do you even race? It doesn't seem so based on your usac page and what you seem to express as tactical and practical understanding of how a race unfolds.

My paceline sucked. I kept yelling at myself to quit surging every time I took a turn at the front, then I'd complain that I wasn't pulling hard enough. Finally I said eff it and just towed me around. When I caught the field I pulled them around for the last 5 laps vs. sitting in for the field sprint.

I could have won the field sprint.

You could. $185.00 new or check out Craigslist. Ebay you'll get killed on shipping.

I am quite involved with racing, I just don't get on the bike and do it...

I can't help feeling like this is all an elaborate setup for some punchline that I'm too obtuse to get.

I mean, I read this as sarcasm. But people respond to it literally, and then doge just strokes his chin inscrutably. Will there be a social sciences research paper published at the end of all this?

my interpretation of that video was Racer Ex winning after lapping the field thus field sprint was for 2nd.

I did win. OTF for 45 minutes. The field sprint was for 7th, there was a small chase group a few minutes back. Long course.

Bar end mirrors, while technically legal because they plug the bar end, are on the edge of what an official might deem safe. You have to put your head down to view them.

wasn't he banned at one point for doping?

I know nothing of that. His name is in many places in SoCal and kid's trainer/coach knows him. I'm told he is willing to share the wealth with those that help him win. I just have watched him race with and without my kid, I sometimes video, say hello, he appears approachable, and friendly.

And I carry spare bar end plugs. This is a slightly concave mirror and he gets a view both sides. We may go to two. Not race tested yet, but in a group ride last Sat his KOM was being challenged and he used it to see who was coming on his left. He said it helped.
Just remember when you see it on the pro-tour where they copied it from...

It was.

I post (essentially) crits are raced too smoothly and that leave the most likely winners the sprinters and I get disagreement

You guys need to start a fist pump thread. I understand there's a whole subculture built around it. Seems most of the websites are in German...
