A 78km race around the block, with some elevation gain, that started to hurt after a while (or not so while). I have to say seeing 60+ laps was really really discouraging.
The field A/B/C. So basically anyone from CAT1 to CAT5. I heard there was an ex-pro there. I lasted 7 minutes, before loosing contact. The rest of hour something was just pure pain and suffering. I bonked hard, and at the end was barely staying on the bike. Needless to say I was lapped few times. The winning break lapped the rest of the "field" two times. If I was just a bit smarter I would have called it a day.
The coke with real sugar sure tasted good right after. Also kept me from passing out.
Dunno, maybe it's jet lag, but this is just plain embarrassing.

60km outside of Nuremberg, Germany.
Yeah... With Prim every 5 laps for points.
Should have put camera on a bike, but really it would have just been me slowly moving back through the pack before loosing contact.

Boy, speaking of Bamberg brings back memories. I spent a lot of time in the boonies around there from 78-81, courtesy of my rich uncle.

South jersey Grand Prix
Rode super aggressive. Bridges to every break. Every time I went up the road we got chased down. Put up my biggest peak power in a race this year if not much longer. Came back in second.

catskills day 3 went...alright. i made it over the first KOM feeling great. crested around 15th wheel or so and stayed there throughout the deceivingly hard rollers afterwards. Pleasantly surprised by this. I knew i was in good position because i was in the TKP ZONE. shout out to the canadian team "Polo Velo" for keeping the pace brisk throughout the race. we passed the masters field 25 miles in, which was surprisingly. we hit devil's kitchen and I decided to climb at my own pace rather than try to hold the leader's wheels. not sure if this was a mistake or not (for those who don't know, this is NOT a climb you want to blow up on. overcook yourself early on and you will be walking up it), but I ended up about 19th in the 3 field (out of 50, i think). overall pretty happy with how the weekend went. even met some BFers on the line of today's race. hope everyone else had a good day out there.

CCCX Circuit Race.
Out and back 8 times, 50 minutes, rollers, wind.
Cat 2/3
2 guys attack at the start, dangle 15 seconds out a couple laps. I follow a guy bridge it. Field shuts it down.
I race conservative, field stays together. One guy gets away solo 2 to go and dangles there all the way to the sprint. Then I get a good position for the headwind hill sprint, just winding it up and the caught guy moves across in front of me. I almost sprint into the curb but slow down enough to avoid it, and to avoid the sprint altogether. Dammit, I felt good.
Cat 3/4
Small field of 15. Teammate told me to watch Joe, and that Joe is super strong TT guy who came here to win. I start out fairly aggressive, attacking here and there, following Joe here and there. But then Joe got away without me, or anyone else. People aren't chasing so next tailwind section I attack and go super hard for a minute or 2, hard enough to keep a gap and the field strung out. When I ease up we are down to 7. I tell them Joe can stay away and they don't believe it. Eventually 3 or 4 of us are down to chase, but a couple guys won't help and slow us down. I attack every now and then trying to hurt and drop the dead weight, one other guy helps with the attacking. We finally lose 3, including the big sprinter who won the 2/3 race. Now we can all work together, and do for a bit, but it's too late. Joe was almost 40 seconds away. One guy decided to ramp up the sprint and I got his wheel. I came around late for the headwind hill sprint, but it wasn't late enough and the other 2 passed me. 4th. Got another T shirt but no upgrade points.

Mikey was looking really good out there, and was diligent about riding in the first 10-15 riders the whole race which made sense to do as the pace was being kept steady so he didn't have to worry about pointy end surges. His form is coming up quick, I would expect him to be a force to be reckoned with in the spring and during cx.
