I assume you mean cold set. Forging is a process where metal parts are made by smashing them into a die, cold forging being done at lower temperatures.

I could cold set the frame, and it'd probably be fine, but I prefer "proper" alterations when possible. It's a very old frame, not that great either (stamped dropouts, no derailler hanger) and I don't think it's worth working on the frame to update to 8-speed compatible wheels. Also, it takes 27" wheels, not 700c.
