Yeah, I am sure that it is the frame. I am always amazed at the differences between different steel rides, even with ones with similar geometry but different types of tubing. My Ciocc road bike is quite stiff as it is was designed with racing in mind and I believe it is SL tubing but I have no way to be sure of that.

I'd guess that some of the newer stuff out there, like Reynolds 853, is very stiff but I haven't ridden that tubing yet myself. I'd like to give a Serotta a ride around the block and I just picked up a nice late '80s bike that is made of SLX but the @$@%*'ng seller hasn't gotten back to me regarding the shipping. What type of tubing is your frame?
