I started fixed using an old road frame, decent parts and a redished and rotafixed rear 27" rear wheel with matching front. That was two years ago, maybe three, I can't remember. But as of this day, I'm still riding it and it's going strong. This is probably the cheapest way to get in, but if you're gonna start out with crappy parts, you're gonna end up with a crappy bike.
