First off, all the peoples' reactions reminded me of Francis (Psycho) from Stripes, "If any of you ***** touch me...I'll kill ya." Don't judge people as bad or negative because they don't want some loon with a Free Hugs sign trying to hug them.

My guess is that if he held a 'Free Beer' sign and had a cooler next to him, it'd would have looked like Mardi Gras out there.
