Speaking of rain, it was pouring rain on my ride home last night. First serious rain ride in a long time -- it was a real dry summer this year. Once again, I restate that bike fenders are the best investment a PNW commuter can buy. I wore my full rain suit and in conjunction with the fenders I was quite dry upon my arrival at home. I was rather shocked to actually see another rider out considering that it was night and pouring rain, but perhaps they were a commuter as well.
Today was classic WA fall weather, fully overcast with thick dark clouds (more rain a coming) and a fairly strong headwind. I can report that the amateurs are off the trail; only 3-4 bikers and a handful of walkers sighted. Truly the halcyon days of trail riding.
