My post was tongue in cheek. :-) Even so, if we all commuted by bicycle, the shops would be open early just like car mechanics are. So, clearly, more cycle commuters are the answer!
And to the OP. I saw a video of a one legged bicycle courier. If he can own a business and ride his bike every day with one leg couldn't you make it 3 miles with one crank
