if any of you have a harbour freight near you (or want to order fro the internet) you can get a torque wrench for about $12.
I am going to check this out after I go to the LBS and try to get the seatpost part replaced. I am assuming this is some POS Chinese tool that will crap out after a couple of uses.

But $12 ain't bad...
