Wow! That's the $2,000- question isn't it! I like both bikes. I can't say enough about the Stumpjumper. The bike performs very well, especially for what it's made to do - charge down technical descents. I love the ProPedal technology and usually leave it on the ProPedal setting.

I thought I needed a cross-country vs. all mountain bike which is why I bought the Superlight. Have only ridden the Superlight once. Have some kinks to work out but I can feel a difference. The Superlight is better suited for my type of riding, climbing fire roads, descending not so technical singletracks, forest trails etc. The Superlight does climb better (at least to me) than the Stump, but it's still too new for a real comparison. Since both are in the same price range, I think either for be a good choice for someone looking to get a new bike.

I'm still wondering why I bought 2 bikes in the same year!
