I concur that the group rode wisely. Sounds like applied experience. Like most of you I ride about 3 feet from the parked cars to avoid opening doors. Almost got caught by one last Sunday. My line paid off. Also, most states laws give the bike or car from the roads edge to the white line that divides the lanes. It is unlawful to impede traffic whether you are a bike or car, so if a line is forming it's time to get over and let them pass. Unfortunately we don't have a European mentality for bikes.

jchet...how does anyone find time in Metro DC when it isn't rush hour? I've been there and it's always jammed!!
