I considered the $2500 price tag reasonable for full carbon ultegra...in line with the Trek 5200 but from what I've read with better wheels, and with carbon bars, cranks too. The road bike review site has many reviews on the trek (which I'm still considering) but many have had problems with cracking in the wheels in the first year, and lots also point to the saddle as poor.

I'll look at the cervelo, kestral, etc. too.
