I did EMS and I thought it wasn't much of a job so I left it. I don't think you really need that much science background, you just would have to do really well on the aptitude test to get in. Some people love the job, I just found it to be a tough lifestyle to lead, the whole 12-hour shift thing sucked away your life and the pay ain't that great.
What kind of qualifications did you need for that? I'm assuming like some sort of life sciences degree etc? High school biology? I mean i'd rather be outside helping people than staring at a montior for 12 hours a day worrying about code reviews, product design, team management and TPS reports.
