What kind of Singlespeeds were they riding?

In the "Little 500 Race" at the end of Breaking Away (1979)???? Breakless freewheels? What kind of track race was that, and does it still go down in Bloomington? Or was all that just make-believe?

I can't sleep. This is bothering me.

Also, has anyone ever seen the tv series based on the film? How can I get copies of the tv show?
