Bikes: Bruce Gordon BLT, Cannondale parts bike, Ecodyne recumbent trike, Counterpoint Opus 2, miyata 1000

Bikes like this are still made by Bilenky and Angletech, varients of the older Counterpoint tandem. He steers and brakes, they both pedal now and they both have a good view.
